This is going to be a three eights of an inch drive and is a teardrop shape should be a great addition for any kind of toolbox to get any sort of job done, where you need a smaller wrench to fit into maybe a smaller spot. So let's take a closer look and talk a little bit about the construction. Now, as you can hear, this does have a 72 count gear teeth. So it's going to be a fairly good amount of teeth to get the job done. Kind of the more you have the better it does as far as giving you better torque and options, or just a better transfer of motion. more

This is going to help you get any kind of job done where you have a specific size of nut, bolt, or screw that you need to get in place. The thing that I like about this kit is that it does come with this little kind of tray. It's not anything really fancy or special, but it does just give it an easy way to pop this into your toolbox and not have things just roll around, it kind of gives everybody a dedicated spot to live so that they stay in one spot. And they also have a color-coded design so that it makes it easy to remember that the brown is your 11 millimeter socket, so you won't have to worry about kind of grabbing it and figuring out like, "Oh, which one is this" It just makes it easy that once you get used to the set, you can just grab whichever color you know is the right size for you.So again, this is an eight piece set, and it is a metric set. This is a really handy set for doing any kind of really delicate, detailed work, whether you're trying to fix a pair of eyeglasses or any other small electrical equipment that require a lot of smaller tools, maybe you're changing out the Ram on your laptop or doing something like that or anything else that might require you to have some smaller tools. This is going to be a great set to have. It does have this little plastic tray, which is kind of part of the packaging. You could use it as a tray to keep things in since it does hold stuff pretty well, but it's just kind of a piece of little flimsy plastic. more

This is going to be an SAE set, or standard set for us here in America, and it's going to just give you a nice, basic set to tighten down anything that you might want to have. It's always good to have the right tool for the job, so you want to make sure that you're putting on something there that's going to fit snug, it's going to be the right size for whatever nut or screw or bolt you're trying to tighten down. It's going to give you different sockets between 1/2-inch and 3/16. You get seven of these guys, I'll go over what to expect with them and what they're made out of.I think overall they're going to be a pretty good set. Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this 1/2" to 3/4" stud extractor for a 1/2" drive ratchet. Now this stud extractor lets you remove any seized or broken studs or bolts, remove stripped, rusted, broken or smooth studs and it is designed to fit stud diameters from 1/2" to 3/4" and you can see the knurled roller right here. This is what will use the cam action to grasp the stud firmly while minimizing damage. So in other words, you have your holes here that you would put the stud through and then you can see that knurled knob here. more

Now this is a 24-ounce size, double-faced solid rubber mallet. Delivers a nice soft strike. Has a nice durable hardwood handle with a nice contour grip for gripping it, and the rubber head on it is a non-marring rubber head.This hammer is great for construction woodworking, metal forming, and automotive applications.Few dimensions on this, the diameter of the head itself is 2.5", the head length is right at 4", and the handle length measured from here to here is right at 10.25".But that should do it for the review on this 24-ounce, double-faced rubber mallet with the hardwood handle.. more

So it'll be good for delicate areas, but they're still pretty durable. A lot of roof racks now use this kind of material and other accessories as well. more

Review of Performance Tool Tools - Adjustable Wrench Set - PT99FR- Video
Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a quick look at the adjustable wrench set. This comes with two different tools that have some different built-in features to make them a pretty versatile little set here. So it's always a good idea to use a socket and wrench if you can, just to make sure that you don't mar up any kind of hardware. But if you don't have great access to it, it's maybe in a hard to reach spot, or you don't want to have to carry a bunch of sockets and wrenches with you, this can be a nice way to kind of get the job done.So it's just an adjustable wrench here. This piece is a little bit loose, which is something I don't quite like to see, but it does adjust all the way out to about 30 millimeter, or about an inch and a quarter for the big guy here. It also has a box end wrench that's 16 millimeter, so you can use that as a wrench there. more

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to take a quick look at the performance tools, utility knife. Now, anybody who's ever worked in a shop knows that these are pretty handy for just about anything or really just anywhere around the house, around work, just always needed a good knife. Having a foldable knife is always nice because then you can keep it in your pocket, put it in your utility belt or anything like that and have it readily at hand, but then it does have that fixed blade. So you can swap out the razorblades pretty easily with this.The first thing I noticed about this whenever I got it out of package, that it's very lightweight, makes me a little bit nervous that it's maybe not as sturdy as some other ones that I've used, but it seems to be holding up pretty well.I wonder about the spring mechanism over time, but really these things are pretty simply designed. So I'm not sure that there'll be much issue. more

So, you just connect this into an air hose to help you get a really fast job done, or make your job last a lot quicker. It's not really intended for any kind of torquing application. It only goes up to about 90 pounds, so you'd want to use this whenever you have the nuts or bolts broken loose and you just want to run them on or off and do that pretty quickly.It has a nice trigger there at the bottom. more

Review of Performance Tool Shop Tools - Heat Gun - PT47VR- Video
Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the performance tools, heat gun. And there are a couple of these available from performance tools. I'd say this is probably more of the professional or regular use. It heats up really quickly, and it gives you two different options as far as the level of heat that you get out of this either low or high, low gets up to about 500 degrees, high gets up to about a thousand, or about 900 and that's in Fahrenheit. And so this should help speed up a lot of jobs, whether you're trying to throw out something, strips some paint, cure adhesive, heat shrink stuff. more

So very handy for all kinds of jobs that you might have in any of those spots. So let's take a closer look. Each of these does have a nice comfort grip handle. Except the one on the adjustable wrench is maybe my least favorite just because it's pretty simple. more

These are a great tool to help you get into any kind of compartment in your vehicle that has pushpins. A lot of times, if you're trying to get access to your tail lights or a threshold, you're trying to get that up, to get access to the wiring or do anything like that, there's going to be some pushpins that you have to take out.A lot of times, it'll be kind of a two part pin. So they'll be a plunger that goes into the housing, that actually seats in a hole in the frame or wherever it is or the metal of your vehicle, so you need to take that plunger part out so that you can remove the whole thing. It's kind of a little locking mechanism.A lot of times, it can be kind of hard to get underneath that head because there's sometimes a little kind of a raised ring around that, and it can be hard to get a screwdriver or anything else underneath. more

So it gives you a nice place to grab onto it, kind of a rubbery material within a plastic reinforcement on the back. more

Review of Performance Tool Tools - Nose Pliers - PT65ZR- Video
Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the Performance Tools needle nose pliers. These are handy for all kinds of uses around the shop or around the home, to make sure that you can either get something kind of smaller wrapped up around that needle nose, or just get access into an area that's kind of hard to get to. It does also have a cutting surface in the center there near the fulcrum that'll allow you to cut wire or anything else, and there's also a secondary gripping surface on the other side of that fulcrum as well, so it should be good for a lot of different tools.The handle is pretty comfortable, it's got these kind of rubbery grips to it, so it should be able to be fairly comfortable in your hand over time as you're using these guys. It's a little bit rounded, so it doesn't have a lot of indexing, but it should be fairly useful to have at home, whether you want to have a second pair, or just get ones that maybe are replacing some old ones that got worn out.They are made of a drop forged and chrome vanadium steel, so it's going to give you long-lasting durability, and the cutting edges are also induction hardened and precision sharpened, so they should last for a long time. Our grips are molded, so they're going to give you again, a fairly comfortable hold there. I have a zip tie just to show how well it's going to cut with that little cutting surface. more

We do have a couple of other kind of odder sizes. We'll have a square R2, which is four inches long, and then two torques bit. One is going to be a T15 and then a T20. more

Review of Performance Tool Tools - Shop Tools - Vehicle Tools - PT65VR- Video
Jeff: Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this 9-Piece 3/8" Drive Steel Metric Bolt or Nut Extractor Set in a nice, molded storage case. Now, if you notice, I'm going to zoom in here just to show you on the inside, they have these gripping edges that'll remove any old stripped, rusted, or painted nuts and bolts, and these are a impact grade chromoly steel, which is strong and durable. You can either use a three-eighths inch drive ratchet or an impact with these. I happened to pull a ratchet just to show you, three-eighths in size, you just snap it on there, and then when you go to remove it, when you put this onto your nut or bolt, those grippers, as you go to loosen it, will grip onto the rounded or worn portion of the nut or bolt, and it start to remove it from where you got to have it so it's very easy to use.Now, the sizes that come in this, and they are listed in the storage case also, starts with a eight millimeter to a 10 millimeter, to an 11, a 12, a 13, a 14, and then a 16, a 17, and a 19 millimeter is the largest one. And, as we also mentioned, it comes in this nice, molded storage case.Now I do want to mention that due to some of the nuts or bolts that are rounded or damaged, these extractors may not fit the exact stated sizes that are shown here so what you want to do is pick the extractor size that'll fit on that nut or bolt the best. more

Now, these extractors, I'm going to zoom in here so you can see, they'll have these gripping edges on the inside that when you install this over the nut, it'll help remove any old or stripped rusted around it, nuts or bolts. Now, these do use an impact grade chrom-moly steel construction, makes them very strong and durable. You can use them with an impact gun.And it does come in the nine different sizes here. It starts with the smallest, which is a 1/4", 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2", 9/16, 5/8, 11/16 and then the largest one is the 3/4" size. more

This makes a really handy tool to get into any really tight quarter spaces, or close quarters, to make sure that you can get things tightened down where you wouldn't otherwise be able to fit a wrench. So maybe if we we're working underneath the dash or you're just in between a really close spot, maybe you're trying to tighten something down on top of the frame of your vehicle, wherever you might be working. This is going to be an extra long handle to help give you more leverage for especially tight or larger lug nuts and bolts, to make sure that you can get those broken free without any issues. Work's with a 3/4" drive. So you'll have to use those 3/4" sockets to work with this guy. Has a quick on/off and also a nice, quick release to make it really easy to get those sockets off, and to change the direction of travel there. more

Review of Performance Tool Tools - Drilling Hammer - PT23VR- Video
Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to take a quick look at the drilling hammer. This is going to be really nice for driving stakes into the ground, maybe to set up your campsite, to drive in a stake around your tent or anywhere else. You can also use this for demolition purposes, so if you need to knock down a wall or anything, this is a pretty good tool for it. The reason why it's called a drilling hammer is just because it gives you that same kind of driving force as a sledgehammer but in a smaller package.With this guy, it's a pretty nice construction handle, feels pretty good in the hand. It weighs about four pounds overall, so we've got about a three pound mallet here at the top, has that printed in there as well, three pounds. So it gives you a pretty good amount of weight to drive in that stake to the ground or do whatever you need to do. more

Or, of course, you can always hang them from a nail or a post or anything like that. They do have a hole at the bottom. But as far as what you get, you're going to have three different styles to use, to get up any kind of nails or staples or something like that. You can also use them to pry things apart.This one is kind of a more 45-degree angle to it. more

Review of Performance Tool Tools - Ratchet Set with Breaker Bar - PT64VR- Video
Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the ratchet set from Performance Tools. This gives you a lot of options, as far as doing any kind of maintenance on a vehicle, or just to have around the shop. The thing that's different about this kit versus some other ones that we have here at etrailer.com is that it does come with some larger size sockets, as well as a breaker bar, so that you can undo a really stuck on there bolt or nut, a little piece of foam in between our sockets and things.So in this kit, it's laid out pretty nicely. The case seems to be pretty nice as well. Some of the other ones I've noticed that it's just a little plastic tab that hinges there, but this looks like it is plastic, but it looks like there's a rod going in between those. So it should last a bit longer in that respect and it also seems to be pretty easy to get everything out. more
